There are 2 reasons why cancer patients die prematurely; they

Cancer screening
Recent advances have rendered cancers detectable even
at pre-cancer stage. These include mammography for breast
cancer, CT for lung, fecal-test & endoscopy for colon, biomarkers
for prostate, HPV DNA for cervix, HBV for liver, immunocytology
for esophagus, H.pylori for stomach; these are among the top
10 most deadly cancers in Malaysia. There are also genetic tests
to detect hereditary cancers and advances in genomics have
made multiple cancers screening possible.
