Bump Stock Ban No More, Pistol Brace Rule Vacated, Gun Show Loophole Injunction
A series of 2nd Amendment victories just occurred but it isn't over yet. Keep in mind that some of these rules and bans were obviously not constitutional to begin with showing that the effort may have been more about financially hurting the industry more than actually changing the rules. The bump stock ban is over, the pistol brace rule has been vacated and the gun show loophole rule has an injunction in 4 states. Hopefully things keep going in this direction but we also need to remember that these issues should never have existed in the first place.

Body Armor for Home Defense Makes Sense Especially in SHTF
Most people's homes are not bulletproof yet they plan on protecting their castle at all costs. This is why body armor is more practical than you think.

I wanted to demonstrate why having body armor for a home defense scenario is important. Especially in a SHTF type scenario where there is no more rule of law. Is Your MIL-SPEC AR-15 Actually MIL-SPEC?
Your AR-15 may be full of MIL-SPEC (Military Specification) parts and components but, would it actually pass a MIL-SPEC qualification test?

MIL-SPEC is a good, universal set of standards that are backed up by testing and data. By following military specifications for your rifle, you gain a level of parts life expectation and universality of parts between platforms. That being said, not all AR-15 rifles are built equally and even if the parts that they have are MIL-SPEC, the rifle itself may not pass military testing standards through a 6,000 round endurance test.

Are Cheap AR-15 Lower Receivers "Just As Good"?
There is some truth to the fact that many AR-15 lower receivers are forged at the same forge. But does that really mean the cheap ones are "just as good"?

There is a risk vs reward equation when it comes to buying budget friendly firearms components instead of expensive items of similar function. Some items are probably not worth taking a risk on. However, AR-15 forged lower receivers do have a more complicated equation regarding value and quality. There are only so many forges that make these items for the manufacturers who receive them afterward. But what about the standards that those manufacturers require of those receivers? What about the machining they apply? How many of the receivers are tossed out due to being out of proper specifications? That's why this conversation is more complicated than just assuming they are all "just as good".

Tornado Emergency Kit in a Bucket
In the aftermath of surviving a tornado, what are some preparedness items that would be good to have with you in whatever shelter you ended up in?

The first step to surviving a tornado is to find appropriate shelter. But what about after the tornado passes? You could be trapped in that shelter depending on debris and obstructions. Will you have a way to call for help or to power your phone? Will you be able to see without the power? Do you have any water or food just in case rescue efforts take longer than expected? And, what about going to the bathroom? Hopefully the items I shared within this kit can help some of you who are worried about surviving a severe weather event like a tornado.

The most practical parts of SHTF prepping don't tend to be very exciting. But they are worth sharing if it can help others get better prepared.

This prep is so practical it's basically magic. Yea, I wrote that and immediately regretted it. Keep prepping for SHTF. We never know when an emergency will happen but we can be ready for it.
