This was a benefit concert to raise money for the campaign of Barbara Boxer, who was running for one of the two California senate seats.
The Great American Music Hall only seats less than 500 people and the stage was barely big enough to hold Santana's entire band
(especially with all the percussion instruments). At times, you could feel the building shaking under the sheer force of the full band's sound.

This Santana concert was filmed on a tripod from the balcony and is the only known version to circulate. it comes from a low vhs generation transfer. The only real flaw is that the color flutters in and out to black-and-white and can be kind of distracting. This clears up at around the 45 minute mark and the color stabilizes and gets better. The sound quality is very good.
